Third-Generation Tube-Benders: A Legacy of Innovation and Resilience
Therese Bellaimey, CEO of Detroit Tube Products, represents the third generation of her family to lead the company, which was founded in 1911 by her grandfather, Henry E. Bellaimey. Starting in a converted horse stable, Henry built custom machinery to produce fuel and cooling lines for marine and automotive engines, laying the foundation for a business that thrived through innovation and adaptability.

During WWII, the company pivoted to war production, redesigning processes to accommodate a diverse workforce and earning vital support from clients for its contributions. Over the decades, Detroit Tube expanded its reach, serving industries beyond Michigan, including long-time customer Hobart Corp.

Therese joined the company in 1990, working alongside her father until his passing in 2007. Under her leadership, Detroit Tube has maintained a debt-free, customer-focused approach, weathering economic challenges with resilience and teamwork.

This article highlights Detroit Tube Products as a century-old business and originally appeared in dbusiness, Detroit’s Premier Business Journal, written by Ilene Wolff.
